Beckman Coulter WalkAway 40/96

WalkAway automatic analysers, allow identification of microorganisms in 4 hours and determination of their sensitivity to antibacterial agents in 4-24 hours. The test spectrum includes more than 300 microorganisms. The analyser uses a modern fluorescent detection method. Identification is based on a proprietary microbial biotyping system using more than 30 reactions simultaneously for high specificity and accuracy. The WalkAway analyser can determine the sensitivity of microorganisms to a wide range (up to 48 drugs) of domestic and foreign antibiotics used in Kazakhstan, including the latest generation of antibiotics.

The Russian-language DMS software includes a powerful expert system that allows you to quickly and correctly prescribe the optimal therapy, recommends the dose and method of antibiotic administration, takes into account the synergism and antagonism of the prescribed drugs, predicts the possibility of developing resistance to antibiotics for a year in advance. In case of equal efficacy, the programme recommends the cheapest drug. All recommendations are given in accordance with the international system of expert evaluation of prescription of medicines NCCLS. DMS software allows to standardise the whole process of bacteriological tests in the laboratory, including input of all results obtained in the laboratory without the use of an analyser, archiving and documentation of data for all patients and samples. The total database thus created allows rapid search and epidemiological analysis for any time period, month, year, generating reports and epidemiological reports simultaneously according to 30 different search and sorting criteria. Deepening epidemiological analysis, standardising results and searches, and improving the quality of results are all particularly important in the analysis of nosocomial infections.

The WalkAway uses barcode identification of panels as they are processed, eliminating the possibility of incorrect entry and requiring no operator supervision. The WalkAway analyser allows for identification only or sensitivity assessment only, as required for a sanitary and epidemiological station, or simultaneous sensitivity and identification on a single panel, which is essential for all clinical facilities.
