Clonorchiasis. An unpleasant surprise from the fish.
Clonorhosis is a disease caused by the hepatic fluke.
Infection can occur from insufficiently heat-treated fish, even if dried, air-dried or salted.
In 70% of cases, the infection is asymptomatic.
In the acute form of infection, there may be symptoms such as:
- Fever
- Abdominal pain
- Enlargement or tenderness of the liver
- Mild jaundice
- Diarrhea
Symptoms can last from 2 to 4 weeks.
With chronic inflammation, it can develop to liver atrophy. And in the later period of the disease - liver cancer.
Determination of immunoglobulin class G (lgG) to Clonorchis sinensis in blood serum by ELISA method will help to check and detect the disease in time in the laboratory of OLYMP CDL.
