OLYMP CDL is the first medical laboratory in Kazakhstan accredited by JCI

The OLYMP CDL laboratory has received international accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI, USA) in the field of laboratory diagnostics. This status is considered one of the most authoritative confirmations of the quality and safety of medical services and reflects the laboratory's compliance with strict international requirements.

The award of JCI accreditation attests to a high level of professional competence, accuracy of laboratory examinations, and a systematic approach to ensuring the safety of patients and staff. The assessment covers all key stages of the laboratory process, from patient interaction to the issuance of test results.

The accreditation procedure is based on 183 JCI standards aimed at:

  • improving the reliability of tests,
  • risk management,
  • protecting patients and employees,
  • and continuous improvement of quality.

Preparation for the international assessment took more than a year and included equipment upgrades, process standardization, the development and implementation of internal regulations, as well as systematic staff training and control of compliance.

The on-site expert assessment took place in November 2025.

Over the course of five days, JCI international auditor Namita Jaggi inspected the laboratory's work.

During the visit, all stages of laboratory diagnostics were examined in detail:

  • engineering and technical systems,
  • infrastructure safety,
  • working conditions for employees,
  • compliance with biological and epidemiological safety requirements.

On December 25, 2025, the laboratory received an official positive conclusion from JCI and accredited status. This result was the culmination of consistent, coordinated, and teamwork focused on the best international healthcare practices.

For patients, JCI accreditation means confidence that laboratory examinations are performed at the level of the world's leading laboratories, with a guarantee of accurate results, transparent processes, and a priority on safety.

Today, there are only 48 medical laboratories in the world that have passed JCI accreditation, and the OLYMP CDL is the first and only one in Kazakhstan with this status.

The experience gained during the preparation and completion of international accreditation is being gradually implemented throughout the entire OLYMP CDL laboratory network. This achievement confirms that the laboratory's activities comply with international quality and safety standards and serves as a basis for trust on the part of patients, partners, and the professional community.
