Antibodies to Trypanosoma cruzi, IgG
The test for IgG antibodies to Trypanosoma brucei detects the presence of specific immunoglobulins of class G produced in the body in response to infection with the causative agent of African trypanosomiasis - T. brucei gambiense or T. brucei rhodesiense.
These parasites cause African sleeping sickness, a serious protozoan disease transmitted through the bites of infected tsetse flies (Glossina spp.).
