Phadiatop adult

Phadiatop is a patented laboratory blood test that detects specific antibodies of the immunoglobulin E (IgE) class to the most common allergens. The test is a screening test, that is, the primary test for the diagnosis of atopic allergies.

There are two types of test: "Phadiatop" and "Phadiatop for children (infant)". The difference is that "Phadiatop for children" contains a set of food and inhalation allergens, while "adult" contains only inhalation allergens, since food allergies are most common in childhood, it is much less common in adults.

The uniqueness of the analysis lies in the fact that a set of reagents is used to set up the reaction, consisting of the most common substances that can cause an allergic reaction: pollen and plant seeds, mold fungus, household mites, domestic and wild animals, etc. The result of the test cannot indicate the exact cause of the allergy, but it gives other important information: whether the patient is allergic or not. This is an urgent issue of allergology, since many inflammatory diseases can give a similar clinical picture to diseases of an allergic nature. If "Phadiatop" gives a positive result, then you can further look for the cause of this condition and start antiallergic therapy. Conversely, if the "Phadiatop" is negative, then there is no point in spending effort and money on such treatment. So, in childhood, in more than 80% of cases, sniffing, nasal congestion and coughing occur due to sensitization or allergy to inhaled allergens. About 50% of skin manifestations in the form of dryness and itching of the skin are caused by the food of the child or the mother who is breastfeeding the baby.

Previously, as an initial stage of diagnosis, another test was used: general IgE, which also indicates sensitization of the body. But very often allergists are faced with the fact that the total IgE is within the normal range, although there are characteristic allergy symptoms and positive examination results for sensitivity to specific allergens.

Unlike classic skin tests, Phadiatop is absolutely harmless to humans, since the patient's blood is examined and there is no direct contact with the allergen. The patient's intake of antihistamines and the age characteristics of the body do not affect the result of the test. The analysis can be prescribed both during the period of seasonal exacerbation and outside this period.

Scientific works on the study of the effectiveness of "Phadiatop" give high marks to the method. So, according to a group of scientists from Spain, C. Vidal, F. Gude and O. Based on the examination of 469 patients aged 18 to 90 years, Boquete concluded that the test has high sensitivity, specificity, as well as positive and negative (confirmation and exclusion of allergies with a negative result of the test) diagnostic value. Their colleagues from Brazil, Charles K. Naspitz, Dirceu Solé and Maria Cecilia Aguiar came to the same conclusion when studying the "Pediatric Phadiatop" on the example of 457 clinical cases of allergy in children.
