Histological examination of endoscopic material with OLGA/OLGIM assessment
Histological examination of endoscopic biopsy specimens with OLGA/OLGIM assessment is a morphological evaluation of gastric mucosal biopsy samples obtained during gastroscopy with biopsy.
The examination assesses the severity of inflammatory changes, gastric mucosal atrophy, the presence of intestinal metaplasia, and other structural alterations.
The assessment is performed using the internationally recognized OLGA (Operative Link on Gastritis Assessment) and OLGIM (Operative Link on Gastric Intestinal Metaplasia Assessment) staging systems, which are used to determine the stage of chronic atrophic gastritis and gastric intestinal metaplasia.
