Manual examination of perianal scrapings
Enterobiosis disease is caused by pinworms. These microorganisms are active at night: during this period, females lay eggs around the anus on the folds. Most patients become infected through unwashed hands, as well as through bed linen. The first symptoms appear 12-15 days after infection. The main signs of the disease are itching in the anus, changes in skin color around the anus or on the skin of the buttocks. Enterobiosis can cause intestinal dysfunction, irritability, grinding of teeth, and may also disrupt the normal intestinal microflora.
