Detection of Chlamydophila pneumoniae (Chlamydia pneumonia) by PCR

  • Prolonged or atypical respiratory infections: cough that does not respond to treatment, pharyngitis, bronchitis, tracheitis, pneumonia without obvious symptoms
  • Suspicion of atypical pneumonia, especially in children, adolescents, and young adults
  • Exacerbation of chronic ENT diseases: sinusitis, rhinosinusitis, tonsillitis
  • Bronchial asthma (suspected infectious trigger)
  • Contact with a patient with chlamydial respiratory passage infection
  • Immunocompromised patients with atypical or severe respiratory passage infections
  • Differential diagnosis between bacterial and viral pneumonia
  • Before prescribing antibiotics, especially in cases of repeated courses of treatment.
