"Lipidogramm" panel is basic

The Basic Lipid Profile Panel is a fundamental tool for assessing lipid metabolism and cardiovascular risk. It addresses key diagnostic objectives at the level of primary screening and dynamic patient monitoring.

The panel includes four core indicators:

  • total cholesterol (TC)
  • low-density lipoproteins (LDL)
  • high-density lipoproteins (HDL)
  • triglycerides (TG).

Together, they provide a comprehensive picture of the patient’s atherogenic profile and allow the physician to quickly assess the balance between "bad" and "good" lipids.

  • Total cholesterol reflects the total amount of cholesterol in the blood and serves as the primary entry point for diagnosis.
  • LDL is the main atherogenic factor directly associated with the formation of atherosclerotic plaques and an increased risk of myocardial infarction and stroke.
  • HDL, on the contrary, performs a protective function by participating in reverse cholesterol transport.
  • Triglycerides are markers of energy metabolism, and elevated levels may indicate metabolic disorders, including insulin resistance.

From a practical perspective, the Basic Lipid Profile Panel provides:

  • cardiovascular risk stratification;
  • early detection of dyslipidemias;
  • monitoring of lipid-lowering therapy effectiveness (including statins and other medications);
  • monitoring of patients with diabetes mellitus, obesity, and metabolic syndrome.

The panel is recommended for preventive screening in adults, especially after the age of 30, as well as for patients with risk factors such as arterial hypertension, overweight, smoking, and a family history of cardiovascular diseases.
