Food Allergen Reflex Panel fx5: egg white, cow's milk, fish, wheat, peanut, soy

Reflex food allergen panel fx5 with subsequent identification of individual allergens (exclusive at СDL OLIMP).

If after eating certain foods you experience rash, itching, swelling, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, runny nose, or cough, this may be a sign of food allergy.

The fx5 reflex panel is a modern two-step test that first provides an overall result for the most common food allergens and, if necessary, automatically identifies which specific product causes the reaction.

What is included in the fx5 panel ?

The panel includes 6 common food allergens:

  • egg white
  • cow’s milk
  • fish
  • wheat
  • peanut
  • soy

These foods are among the most common causes of food allergy in children and adults.

How does reflex diagnostics work ?

Step 1 - fx5 panel screening

First, an overall result for the entire panel is determined:

  • negative result - an allergic reaction to the foods included in the panel is unlikely, and no additional testing is performed
  • positive result - indicates the presence of IgE antibodies to at least one allergen in the panel

Step 2 - automatic identification of individual allergens

If the overall panel result is positive, the laboratory automatically determines IgE separately for each allergen included in the panel:

  • egg white
  • cow’s milk
  • fish
  • wheat
  • peanut
  • soy

This makes it possible to accurately identify which specific food causes the allergic reaction.

How is the test performed ?

  • a blood sample is taken from a vein once;
  • first, the overall fx5 panel test is performed;
  • if the result is positive, testing for each allergen is automatically carried out separately;
  • no repeat blood sampling is required.

What are the advantages of the reflex approach ?

  • accurate identification of the specific allergen;
  • no unnecessary tests in case of a negative result;
  • saves time and costs;
  • convenient - everything is performed using a single blood sample;
  • helps the doctor provide accurate dietary recommendations.
