"Osteoporosis" Profile

Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by decreased bone tissue density and an increased risk of fractures. In the early stages, the disease is often asymptomatic, which is why laboratory diagnostics play an important role in detecting disorders of bone metabolism, assessing the risk of disease progression, and monitoring treatment effectiveness.

The "Osteoporosis" package includes modern laboratory markers that allow assessment of bone formation and bone resorption processes, as well as calcium and phosphorus metabolism:

  • P1NP - a marker of bone formation;
  • Osteocalcin - an indicator of bone formation activity;
  • Beta-CrossLaps (β-CTX) - a marker of bone resorption (breakdown);
  • Parathyroid hormone - the main regulator of calcium and phosphorus metabolism;
  • Total and ionized calcium - indicators of the body’s calcium status;
  • Phosphorus - an important mineral metabolism element involved in bone formation.
