Lead (Pb) in blood (chromatography)
General rules for preparing for any blood tests:
Sampling is performed on an empty stomach. Last meal:
- For children under 1 year of age, 3-5 hours before
- For other ages, 8-12 hours before (12 hours for lipid spectrum tests) before blood sampling.
- Drink no more than 200 ml of still drinking water (no tea, coffee, juices, etc.) for all types of blood tests, except for glucose.
Limitations
- Do not eat fried and fatty foods 2 days before the tests.
- Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before the tests.
- Tobacco - do not smoke for one hour before the tests.
- Strenuous physical activity - avoid for 3 days before the tests.
- Medications, dietary supplements, sports nutrition - stop taking 14 days before the tests.
- High doses of biotin (more than 5 mg/day) - do not take for 8 hours before the tests.
Recommendations
- Rest for 15-20 minutes before taking the tests at the blood sampling site.
- Repeat tests should be taken at the same time, in the same position, and at the same laboratory where you took the previous tests.
- If you take medication only at a specific time in the morning, it is better to do so after giving blood or consult your doctor beforehand.
