Broccoli, f260

Broccoli, a variety of wild cabbage, belongs to the cabbage family, Brassicaceae (formerly Cruciferae). Wild cabbage/wild mustard originated along the northern and western shores of the Mediterranean Sea. This plant was domesticated and eventually bred into a variety of forms, including broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi and Brussels sprouts, all of which remain the same species.
Evidence suggests that broccoli can sometimes cause food allergy symptoms in sensitized people.
Maternal consumption of cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, cow's milk, onions, and chocolate was significantly associated with colic symptoms in exclusively breastfed infants.
