"Kidney Examination" Profile

The "Kidney Assessment" profile is a comprehensive laboratory test designed to evaluate kidney function and detect early signs of impaired renal function. The test can be used for screening in patients with chronic diseases, as well as for dynamic monitoring of kidney function.

The profile includes:

  • Creatinine
  • Cystatin C
  • Urea
  • Potassium
  • Sodium
  • Total calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Phosphorus
  • Urinalysis
  • Albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR)

Creatinine, urea, and Cystatin C allow assessment of the kidneys’ filtration capacity. Cystatin C is considered a more sensitive marker of an early decline in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and can help detect impaired kidney function before creatinine levels become elevated.

Urinalysis allows assessment of the condition of the urinary system, while ACR testing helps detect early kidney damage, particularly in patients with diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension.

Measurement of potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus levels allows assessment of fluid-electrolyte and mineral balance, which is often disrupted in kidney disease.
